Skateboard Park opens in Creigiau
After campaigning for more facilities for young people Pentyrch Community Council persuaded Cardiff County Council to build a skateboard park on the Creigiau Recreation field. The skateboard ramp was opened by County Councillor Delme Bowen on the 27 July in time for the summer holidays and it has proved to be a great success. |

Quarry Tunnel
At the October meeting of the Taff’s Well Quarry Liason Meeting the quarry management informed Pentyrch and Radyr Councillors that work on the tunnel to allow access to the quarry from Tynant Road had started. The quarry has now been taken over by Cemex, one of the largest building materials companies in the world. Following completion of the tunnel the processing plant will be installed in the bottom of the quarry in 2007 and by 2009 all the existing plant and stock will be removed from the top of the quarry. |

Parc Sglefrfyrddio yn Creigiau
Yn dilyn ymgyrch am gyfleusterau i bobl ifanc mae Cyngor Cymuned Pentyrch wedi perswadio Cyngor Sir Caerdydd i adeiladu parc sglefrfyrddio ar faes chwarae Creigiau. Agorwyd y parc sglefrfyrddio gan y Cynghorydd Sirol Delme Bowen ar 27 Gorffennaf mewn pryd i’r gwyliau haf ac mae wedi profi i fod yn llwyddiannus iawn. |

Twnel Chwarel
Yng nghyfarfod cydlynu Chwarel Ffynnon Taf ym mis Hydref rhoddwyd gwybodaeth gan reolwyr y chwarel i gynghorwyr Radyr a Phentyrch fod gwaith ar y twnel i alluogi mynediad i’r chwarel o Heol Tynant wedi cychwyn. Mae’r chwarel nawr yn eiddo i gwmni Cemex, un o’r cwmnïau defnydd adeiladu mwyaf yn y byd. Yn dilyn cwblhau y twnel gosodir y gwaith prosesu yng ngwaelod y chwarel yn 2007 ac erbyn 2009 bydd yr holl weithfeydd a stoc wedi eu symud o ben y chwarel. |
