FUNDRAISERS NEEDED!
PARISH HALL CREIGIAU

It is now nine months since we heard we had been unsuccessful in our bid for Heritage Lottery Funding and the money we as a community had raised for partnership funding must now be spent very prudently on repairs and restoration work.
The Hall has been re wired and essential work has been carried out on the drains. Radiator covers and polycarbon window guards have been fitted to comply with Health and Safety regulations. An access audit has been carried out to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.
During the summer holidays work will commence on the roof and gutterings and if no major problems are uncovered during this work , we will have sufficient money to re render the exterior and paint the outside of the Hall prior to the onset of winter.
However our pot of money will then be severely depleted and we have insufficient funds to restore the interior and carry out the alterations needed to comply to the Disability Access Audit
We are a small group of eager volunteers who meet approximately 3 to 6 weekly to fill in forms for grants and arrange various fundraising events. Over the last year we have had concerts, quizzes, a  Beetle Drive, Autumn Fayres, regular Coffee mornings, Strawberry teas, Carol singing, BBQs, Grand raffles, Mile of Pennies and much more.
We would like to welcome new members to this group from the community with fresh ideas and enthusiasm. Many different groups of people use the Parish Hall Creigiau from Mothers and Toddlers to Creigiau Companions, from Youth Clubs, Brownies, Guides, WI to Sunday Worship. It is our Polling Station and our Blood Transfusion Centre and we want this hall to be  pleasant for you all to use.
If you or one of your family has used the Hall and would like to help

INCONSIDERATE PARKING

The Senior Road Safety Officer for Cardiff City Council has recently commented on the inconsiderate / illegal parking outside Creigiau Primary School during the morning and afternoons. In an effort to raise parent's awareness the council are going to place new road markings and will consider altering the design to deter bad parking. The police and traffic wardens will also be periodically in attendance and some enforcement action in relation to issuing fixed penalties notices may be necessary.

us restore it for  the good of the community please contact Helen Davey (20891765) or Alison Woodley (20891800)
