EXCELLENT
SEASON
FOR CREIGIAU

Creigiau Cricket Club held it's annual dinner and dance at Creigiau Golf Club on October 16th after another good year for the Club. The 1st XI finished an excellent 3rd place in the Welsh Club Cricket Conference Division 2, and the midweek side won the Vale of Glamorgan Midweek League. The juniors also had an excellent year with the Under 15s finishing runners-up in the Cardiff and the Vale League. There were also very good performances from the Under 13s and Under 11s, and even our Under 9s had a game, performing very well against a strong Pentyrch side.
There were several awards presented during the evening by our special guest the Deputy Lord Mayor of Cardiff County Councillor Delme Bowen. Jon Harrington received the Young Player of the Year award. Other main awards went to Dave Avery, Chris Marusza and Tom Lloyd.
The Club would like to thank the Golf Club for hosting the dinner dance. The excellent food and facilities contributing to a very enjoyable evening.

BLE MAE
CWMDERI?

Eleni mae'r opera sebon Cymraeg ar S4C, Pobl y Cwm, yn dathlu 30 mlynedd a derbyniodd anrheg arbennig i'w gofio -  lle yn neuadd enwogion y Gymdeithas Teledu Brenhinol. Y gyfres ddrama, sy'n cael ei gynhyrchu gan BBC Cymru, yw'r rhaglen gyntaf yn hytrach nag unigolyn, i dderbyn y fraint hon.
Ond ble mae Cwmderi? Y pentref dychmygol sy'n llawn bywyd a digwyddiadau. Mae rhai yn dweud ei fod rhwng Llanelli a Chaerfyrddin yng Nghwm Gwendraeth. Ond os edrychwch o gwmpas yn ofalus fe welwch drigolion Pobl y Cwm yn paratoi i ddarlledu yn yr ardal hon. Fe'i gwelwyd hwy ddiwethaf yn Neuadd y Pentref Gwaelod y Garth yn cynhyrchu pantomeim Nadolig. Mae rhai o'r trigolion yn hoffi cwrdd yng Nghlwb Rygbi Pentyrch. Cafodd llawer o blant lleol eu gweld am y tro cyntaf ar y teledu yn rhan o'r digwyddiadau yn Ysgol Gwaelod y Garth.
Os awn dros y mynydd i Efail Isaf  fe welwch gapel sy'n union yr un fath a'r un yng Nghwmderi. Mae wedi darlledu mwy o briodasau ac angladdau ar y teledu nag unrhyw gapel arall yng Nghymru.
Felly mae pobl Cwmderi o'n cwmpas bob
dydd.

WHERE IS
CWMDERI?

This year the S4C televison Welsh soap opera, Pobl y Cwm, is celebrating its 30th anniversary and received a thirtieth birthday present to remember - a place in the Royal Television Society's Hall of Fame. The long-running drama produced by BBC Cymru is the first programme, rather than individual person, to receive the honour.
But where is Cwmderi? The mythical village where everything is happening. Some say its between Llanelli and Carmarthen in Cwm Gwendraeth. But if you keep a close eye in this area you'll find the residents of Pobl y Cwm preparing for action. They were last seen at the Gwaelod y Garth Village Hall producing  a Christmas pantomime. Pentyrch Rugby Club is a favourite haunt for some of the characters. Many of the local children had their first break on television in the action at Gwaelod y Garth School.
If we go over the mountain to Efail Isaf you'll find a chapel which is identical to the one in Cwmderi. It has seen more televised weddings and funerals than any other chapel in Wales.
So keep an eye out for Cwmderi people in our villages.
