MORE GOOD NEWS FOR CREIGIAU

A reminder that the Good News Coffee Shop is being held in Creigiau Church Hall on the third Saturday of every month, 10 am until noon.
We are very happy to see the event being well attended and enjoyed by many different age groups within the community. However we would be even more happy to see lots of new faces - so why not pop in one Saturday for a coffee? You will not get better value anywhere - not even in Asda's and we know you would enjoy it.
We are looking for people or organisations who might help by having a sales table, or people interested in taking part in a tabletop sale event we are trying to organise. Please contact us for more details.
We are delighted to report that in this very short period of time these coffee mornings have nearly reached our first target of raising £500 towards the Church Hall Restoration Fund. With your help we could probably hit it next time. Please do not write anything else in your diaries on the third Saturday of the month, make the Good News Coffee Shop your priority. We can't wait to see you all!

CREIGIAU COMPANIONS

We are pleased to say our organisation is continuing to thrive and we are attracting new members, although we still have room for more!
In March we manned the sales table at the Good News Coffee Shop. We decided to give it an Easter Theme and were delighted to be able to hand over more than £140 to the Church Hall Restoration Fund. A big thank you to everyone who helped us raise this huge sum. The programme for the first half of the year was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and at the time of writing we still have the Brecon canal trip and the cream tea to look forward to. We are now busy planning our autumn programme.
Our meetings are held in the Creigiau Church Hall, we start at 2.15 p.m. on alternate Thursdays (for dates see our programme in the Church Hall notice board) and we average 24 persons per meeting. We usually have a speaker or a quiz etc., and finish with tea, cake and plenty of chatting.
We are a very friendly bunch, so if you would like to make some new friends, or just have a bit of company, please pop in and join us one day.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

Pentyrch Open Gardens

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the P.O.G. plant sale! £800 towards the running costs for staging the open garden weekend. Bev Eagle did a splendid job growing hundreds of plants and organising the plant donations. THANK YOU BEV.
Tubs of summer plants have been delivered to the more mature residents at George's Corner and Cefn Bychan - we hope you enjoy them. We have had many comments that the front gardens in the village are looking lovelier each year, so many people notice. So thank you to those of you who don't open but help by making your garden look beautiful. Two of our gardeners have undertaken to clean up the area around the shops each morning of the open garden weekend.
There will be 26 gardens plus St Catwg's Church open over the weekend - this includes 11 new gardens from last year- we are delighted to welcome the garden of Craig y Parc School and the church. Go and visit the water fountain in Craig y Parc School that YOU helped to fund. A courtesy bus will run from the village hall, wheelchair friendly, around the village this year.
Programmes are on sale now from Follis newsagents £5 to cover both days. Offers of help (an hour washing up? Or even to take a poster and leaflets to your place of work) or any other enquires Tel: 20891337. Helen Edwards.
