DARBY AND JOAN
Many came to our traditional Christmas Dinner at the Village Hall through the kindness of voluntary drivers who braved the wild Welsh weather. After being warmly greeted by president Mrs Jenny Elms, members enjoyed a wonderful seasonal repast. An evening of song and laughter was provided by Cardiff group `Musical Allsorts'. On January 7th, members still away on a winter break, missed an interesting talk given by Mrs Best about her experience when she, her husband and their two children lived in East Africa. On January 24th some members attended the Pantomime `Snow White' in Cardiff. Others were at the Village Hall to hear Chief Fire Officer Mr T Brewer of Whitchurch give a comforting talk regarding Safety Alarms etc. Forms explaining help available were distributed. At the February 7th meeting, a combined film show and talk explaining the much appreciated work of Bobath Therapeutic Scheme for Children, was followed by a successful question and answer session. On February 21st, a Ladies Choir group from the Rhondda, dressed in Welsh costume brought a slightly premature but welcome celebration of our patron saint's day. A short history of the `Life of St David' was given and leaflets were distributed to enable the members to join in with the singing of folk-songs. It was a
